Writing Articles To Generate Traffic
(Before you decide
article writing is too difficult, read the section on "list-articles"
below.)
Writing articles is one of the absolute
best ways to generated free traffic to your site. You write a
short article, submit it to a few places, and get a permanent
stream of traffic. Here are some of the ways that you can get
traffic to your website from articles:
1. Direct click-throughs from an article
bank. I get lots of traffic from people reading my articles at
an article bank, and clicking on the link in the "author's
resource box."
2. Search engines. Try "cheap international
plane tickets" on Google, and you'll get sites with my article.
Wherever the article is found, readers can click through to my
travel site.
3. Other sites. When I see a referral address
I don't recognize in my site reports, I check it out. Usually
it's a web site that is using one of my articles.
4. Your newsletters. If you have a subscription
address link in your articles, you can generate repeat traffic
to your site, assuming you host your newsletter on the site.
5. Other's newsletters. If your article
is used by a high-circulation newsletter, you can get a lot of
traffic in a short time.
Article Submission - The Basics
Write an article and submit it to article
banks and newsletters. Most article banks carry "free-distribution
"articles. Anyone can use them for their site, newsletter
or blog, if they don't change them, and they leave the links
active. The link(s) is in the "resource box," where
you say a few words about yourself and invite the reader to visit
your web site.
Think about this for a moment. You post
the article once, and it spreads to other sites and becomes many
streams of permanent traffic. Why permanent? An example: I get
traffic for "mexico real estate" on my site HousesUnderFiftyThousand.com
because of an article written by someone else. The author gets
clicks through to her site, but I get search traffic and some
revenue too, so why would I ever remove that article?
Some article banks charge, by the way,
but there are plenty that are free. Many have several options
ranging from free to better placement or active distribution
for a small charge.
List-Articles
Article writing doesn't have to be difficult.
Online articles are generally short and less formal than magazine
articles anyhow, but if you really don't have a knack for writing,
try a "list-article." This type of article is the most
popular online. This is fortunate for you, because it's also
the easiest type to write.
If your site is about making money
on Ebay, you could write an article titled "Ebay - The Top
Ten Sellers." A two-sentence introduction, a list with a
sentence or two about each item, a bit about yourself and your
site, and you're done. Another article might be "Ebay -
Six Mistakes People Make." How can we not read that if we want to avoid the mistakes?

easy to register and to use.
